Research Center for Macromolecules and Biomaterials, National Institute for Materials Science, Japan

To promote international exchange in the field of biomaterials between Taiwan and Japan, MT3+ has signed a MOU with Research Center for Macromolecules and Biomaterials at The National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) . From left to right: Professor Ho-Chiao Chuang (Dean of R & D, Taipei Tech); Professor Hsu-Wei Fang (Director of MT3+), Professor Masayuki Takeuchi (Director of the Research Center for Macromolecules and Biomaterials, NIMS); Professor Mitsuhiro Ebara (Deputy Director of the Research Center for Macromolecules and Biomaterials, NIMS).

Professor Ho-Chiao Chuang, Professor Hsu-Wei Fang, Professor Masayuki Takeuchi, and Professor Mitsuhiro Ebara pose for a commemorative photo while holding the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) is one of the largest scientific research organizations in Japan, located in Tsukuba City, Japan.

NIMS is among the top 10 material science research institutions in Japan and is known for having the highest citation rates and producing the most top 1% cited papers among Japanese research institutions.

In January 2024, MT3+ Director Professor Fang led a delegation to Tsukuba, Japan to participate in the symposium: 2024 Japan-Taiwan Joint Symposium for Innovations in Biomaterial and Device Design: From Research to Market. This international conference, focusing on the commercialization of biomaterial research, will be held annually, rotating between NIMS and MT3+, and will progressively expand in scale each year. The long-term goal is to develop it into a globally renowned conference with distinct international characteristics.

MT3+ members Professor Ren-Jei Chung, Professor Chih-Hung Huang, Professor Yang Wei, Professor Chih-Yu Kuo, Dr. I-Cheng Chen and Dr. Yu-Chien Lin presented their research findings at the conference and engaged in academic exchanges with NIMS members.
