The Center hosted an international forum during BIO Asia–Taiwan 2025, bringing together distinguished experts and industry representatives from the international biomedical materials field.
Invited speakers included Dave Whelan, Chief Business Officer of Big4Bio; TJ Sun, CEO of Eventpedia; Professor Łukasz Pawłowski of Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland; and Professor Andri Hardiansyah of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Indonesia.
The speakers shared international experiences spanning biomedical innovation, industry–academia collaboration, and market implementation, while exploring how Taiwan can leverage its strengths in research and industry to build globally competitive and internationally recognized healthcare brands.

The forum was moderated by Professor Hsu-Wei Fang, Director of the Center, who invited the experts to share practical experiences in promoting industry–academia collaboration, technology translation, and industrial development in their respective countries.
The discussion also addressed the future international development of Taiwan’s biomedical industry.
Through cross-border collaboration and resource integration, the Center hopes to foster closer partnerships between Taiwanese companies and international stakeholders, further strengthening the global competitiveness of Taiwan’s healthcare and biomedical industries and paving the way toward building Taiwanese brands with international recognition comparable to that of TSMC.

The forum also featured discussions on AI entrepreneurship trends, talent development, and startup strategies.
The invited guests encouraged young students and researchers to actively explore their individual strengths and career directions, broaden their international perspectives, and expand their professional networks.
They also emphasized the importance of finding partners who share common goals and possess complementary expertise during the entrepreneurial journey, as cross-disciplinary teamwork can help increase the potential for innovative achievements to reach the market and gain international exposure.
