To promote international exchange and the commercialization of biomedical materials technologies, the High-Value Biomedical Materials Research and Commercialization Center at National Taipei University of Technology co-organized an international symposium with several universities and research institutions in Japan from March 23 to 24. Experts and scholars from Taiwan and Japan were invited to share their research achievements in biomedical materials and practical experiences in the commercialization of medical devices.

The symposium brought together representatives from National Taipei University of Technology, the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Kyushu University, the University of Tsukuba, and the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI). Participating professors shared the outcomes of international collaborative research, applications of biomedical materials technologies, and successful cases of medical device commercialization. Through exchanges among different research institutions and academic organizations, the symposium further explored the potential pathways for biomedical technologies to progress from research and development toward practical applications and the market.

The opening ceremony was held on the morning of March 23, with opening remarks delivered by Director Chin-Sheng Chen of the Headquarters of Advanced Technology Research at National Taipei University of Technology and Dr. Nobutaka Hanagata, Vice President of NIMS, marking the beginning of the two-day international symposium.

Through this international symposium, the Center further strengthened connections between biomedical materials research and industrial resources in Taiwan and Japan, promoted international academic collaboration and technical exchange, and deepened the link between research outcomes and industrial applications through the sharing of successful commercialization cases. The Center will continue to expand opportunities for international collaboration and the commercialization of biomedical materials technologies.
