From June 23 to 25, 2023, Prof. Wen-Hui Weng from the Center attended the “HKUA-EAU Joint Symposium cum 35th Anniversary Dinner of the Association” in Hong Kong.

The symposium brought together urologists, basic science researchers, medical device researchers, and industry representatives from across Asia, the United Kingdom, and Europe to exchange insights on the latest advances in urological diagnosis and treatment.

Through clinical case presentations, demonstrations of advanced medical equipment, and live surgical broadcasts, participants explored various treatment approaches and their clinical applications, fostering exchanges among basic research, medical technology development, and clinical practice.

During the symposium, Prof. Weng also met with Prof. Dr. Ong Teng Aik, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Malaya, to discuss the progress and preliminary findings of their collaborative project, “Development of a Biosensor System Using Multiple Urinary Probes for Precision Detection of Prostate Cancer.” The meeting further strengthened Taiwan–Malaysia collaboration in biomedical sensing technologies.

Prof. Weng also exchanged views with Peter K. F. Chiu, Associate Professor of Urology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and President of the Hong Kong Urological Association, regarding potential future collaboration on biosensor research, laying a foundation for further international research cooperation.

Through participation in this international symposium, the Center gained valuable insights into the latest developments in urology and medical device technologies, while further strengthening academic exchanges with research institutions in Hong Kong and Malaysia and expanding opportunities for future international research and technological collaboration.
